John has been a relationship expert on Married at First Sight AUS since it was launched back in 2015. He has been involved in 13 Seasons of MAFS, which has seen the experiment transform from a small observational documentary, to becoming a hugely successful TV reality show that is now shown in 120 countries (e.g. US, UK, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, New Zealand). He has become well known for delivering hard hitting feedback to the participants, calling out toxic patterns of behaviour and holding couples accountable for their actions during their time on the experiment.

More recently, he has begun to feature on the much talked about companion show MAFS: After the Dinner Party. During his weekly segments, he unpacks with the hosts the current dramas of the experiment, and gives insights into the couples and provides general feedback on relationships. It once again gives him an opportunity to dish out some relationship home truths to those that simply cannot get enough of Married At First Sight. His growing popularity has also seen him appear internationally as the relationship expert on MAFS NZ and MAFS UK.
In terms of background, John has worked in the field of relationships for over 30 years, successfully running a private practice and exclusive retreats, giving out practical advice to singles and couples. He has been involved in a number of other TV shows including ABC’s Making Couples Happy and Making Families Happy, and has appeared as the relationship expert on Channel Nine’s Today Show, Today Extra, and A Current Affair. He has worked as the dating and relationship expert for 9Honey and Talking Honey, and is a best selling author and sought after speaker.
