Do you think I have a chance with her?

I’m a 21 year old student and I’m confused and frustrated about a friend of mine. I’ve known her for about 3 years and she’s in all my classes and we spend a lot of time hanging out together around campus. We really connect and have the same sense of humour, and we share similar interests. I’ve been keen on her ever since we met, but I have never made this clear to her. She’s been going out with different guys over this time, and I have to say they all seem to be losers that treat her badly. What’s also frustrating is that she talks to me about them all the time, often stands me up to be with them, and flirts with them in front of me. I’m better than these guys and she should realize this! Do you think I have a chance with her if I come clean and tell her my feelings?

No. Don’t go there with your feelings, as you’re going to get burnt. Her actions towards you are all the evidence you need to know that she’s not interested in you romantically. If she was keen on you, she wouldn’t be chasing after other guys and making you feel used and unimportant. I know that you’re better for her than these other guys, but she doesn’t want to be treated well. At the moment, she wants to go after bad guys that are going to hurt her. Until she gets this out of her system and starts treating herself with more respect, she’s not going to notice you. I would suggest that you either keep things exactly the same and play the waiting game and let her come to you, or else distance yourself from her and start spending more time with girls that can appreciate you and want to have a committed relationship.
